About Sue

Sue has a wealth of knowledge and experience, which combined with natural warmth, understanding and empathy, makes her an insightful and intuitive counsellor.

Sue chose to leave a successful career in public service to open her private practice in Samford.  She was drawn to helping people to reach resolution and realise their potential since her teens. Her earnest passion for her work and people is evident when talking with Sue.

Sue’s experience and understanding of the counselling process, and how people interact in that process, allows her to ensure that conversations are focused on you and are paced by your needs.  Sue believes judgement has no place in a healing conversation and she instinctively seeks to understand you and your circumstances on a deeper level, regardless of the complexity.

Sue works with families, couples and individuals (20yo+).  Sue is experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, stress, conflict and marriage guidance.  Sue’s interests also include helping people who are experiencing changes in their lives, especially during menopause as well as people who are living with or have family members who suffer mental illness, including personality disorders such as Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder.

Sue also has extensive experience working at senior levels of the Queensland public service in the Office of the Director-General, Department of the Premier and Cabinet.  Sue was responsible for advising the Director-General, managing human resources and relationships with the Office of the Premier for almost a decade, spanning three premierships.

Counselling and coaching have been an ongoing part of Sue’s life and she has honed these skills well.

Sue understands the importance of you finding the right health professional.  Sue is happy to answer any questions you have in your pursuit to do so.
